Background colour ranges from the translucent clear ilustrated here to a deep orange. There can be white patches. The mantle is covered with small blackish spots and relatively large rounded tubercles. The tubercles are often capped with deep orange, and sometimes the largest ones are white. Usually reported to live in the intertidal and shallow sublittoral but reported here from 70 feet (approx 20m).
