Polycerid from Kerama Id, Japan

March 27, 2000
From: Atsushi Ono

Dear Bill,
Thank you for my photos of Halgerda diaphana and thank you to C. Carlson & P. J. Hoff.

This time I have sent photos of a strange Polycerid. The two photos are of different individuals and they were found on same rock.
There were many small bryozoans.
I found this species at 5m depth, Kerama Is. near Okinawa.
Their size are 10 to 13mm long.

Could you help me to identify this species?

Sincerely,
Atsushi Ono

Dear Atsushi,
It looks very like descriptions of Polycera fujitai Baba, 1937 but that species is said to have black rhinophores, so I am not sure.

Perhaps someone has some ideas.
Best wishes,
Bill Rudman.
