Colpodaspis from Kerama Id
June 19, 2000
From: Atsushi Ono
Dear Bill,
is this a species of Colpodaspis?
It is similar to Colpodaspis thompsoni in its form and size, but is different its color pattern.
I found it at 18m depth on coral rubble at Kerama Is. near Okinawa.
This shell length is 2mm long.
This is very rare species, I found only two individuals at same area.
Could you help me to identify it for me?
Sincerely,
Atsushi Ono

Ono, A., 2000 (Jun 19) Colpodaspis from Kerama Id. [Message in] Sea Slug Forum. Australian Museum, Sydney. Available from http://www.seaslugforum.net/find/2583Dear Atsushi,
It certainly looks like a species of Colpodaspis but I agree that it is not
Colpodaspis thompsoni.
I have put up pages on two more species of Colpodaspis today, an unnamed species from southeastern Australia and Colpodaspis pusilla from the North Atlantic. So I will put yours on a separate page as Colpodaspis sp. 2.
Best wishes,
Bill Rudman.
