Aldisa from Kerama Island

April 20, 1999
From: Rie Nakano

Dear Bill,

Here is another of Mr Atsushi Ono 's images from Kerama Island, near Okinawa which you offered to identify for us.

It was found on the coral reef, Depth: 6m, Length: 8mm.

Mr.Ono thinks it is Sclerodoris sp. But Mr Cory Pittman said this should probably be Aldisa sp.

Dear Rie,

I think this is almost certainly a species of Aldisa. The two 'pit'-like marks on the back are very characteristic of Aldisa. I have seen one specimen of a very similarly coloured animal which is definitely Aldisa from its radula.

Best wishes,
Bill Rudman.
