Valda Fraser SA Nudibranch Book
October 10, 2002
From: Elizabeth Summer
Hello Bill,
The Forum?s very own Valda Fraser, who has been responsible for numerous excellent photographs of novel South African nudibranchs, has organized some of her image collection (along with Dennis King?s fish pictures) into a book.
More Reef Fishes and Nudibranchs by Dennis King & Valda Fraser.
I found it rather difficult to get a copy in the US until SeaChallengers [http://www.seachallengers.com] started carrying it. See the review at the South African wildlife conservation (WildWatch) website: http://www.wildwatch.com/resources/reviews/reeffishes.asp
Valda has recognized that the strip of the Indian Ocean next to her home (south of Durban, South Africa) is filled with an astonishing variety of nudibranchs, many not previously described in the scientific literature. Through her careful observations, she is making an enduring contribution to our understanding of the true level of diversity of these creatures. [46 nudibranchs, 262 fishes are illustrated]
