Dear Bill,
You're right. It's a Berthellina. It is true that is the first time that I see dark patches on the dorsum of Berthellina. As we said during the Workshop in Menfi, last year, until we can look at the internal anatomy, it's not possible to say much about Berthellina species.

Here is one more from Gran Canaria Island, Canary Ids, off west African coast, divesite "Roque Prieto".

Size about 9 cm, depth 2 m. Arthur writes this is the only one he has seen which has this dark spots.

I think we should ask Lucas Cervera if he can help with an identification. The colour and shape would suggest a Berthellina but I can't go any further.
