Cavolina & Cavolinia

Dear All,
I would like to ask about genus Cavolina Abildgarrd, 1791 and Cavolinia Bruguiere, 1792. Are they synonyms? If not, is the genus Cavolinia used for species in the Indian and Pacific Oceans?
I am confused.
Thank you very much.

I'm afraid I'm not an expert on these animals and so I am not sure where to go hunting for answers on this nomenclatural problem.
From a quick look in the literature, Abildgaard (1791) used Cavolina but Opinion 883 of the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature accepts the corrected? spelling Cavolinia. In the literature it seems most workers in the field use Cavolinia so I guess that's what you should do.
On whether species of Cavolinia are found in the Indo-West Pacific. Most species or species groups of Cavolinia have circumglobal distributions, so yes they are found in the Indian and Pacific Oceans.
Best wishes,
Bill Rudman.
