Dear Bill,

Attached is a photo of a Tambja sp. which I photographed whilst diving at Lord Howe Island in February 2003. It is almost the reverse colour pattern of Tambja mullineri which has a dark blue body with a pattern of lighter blue longitudinal stripes. This species has a blue body with black longitudinal stripes.

Dear Julie,

This is a rather distinctive colour pattern. The only animal I can think of with some similarities would be Tambja morosa which has quite a range of patterns within the blue and black range. At present I think I will keep it separate as Tambja sp. 11
