Throughout New Zealand, apparently endemic.

Body generally translucent white with the brown and cream parts of the viscera showing through the body wall. The edges of the rhinophoral lamellae, oral tentacles and gills and paired dorsal processes are lightly speckled with opaque white pigment, and the paired processes have a yellow line along their upper surface.
