Goniodoridella savignyi from Port Stephens, NSW
January 4, 2007
From: Leanne & David Atkinson
Happy New Year,
We are finding lots of interesting nudibranchs at Port Stephens over the last few weeks.
Locality: The Pipeline, Port Stephens, 8 metres, New South Wales, Australia, Pacific Ocean, 30th December 2006, Silty sandy bottom, scattered sponges, ascidians, soft corals, algae and debris from rough weather. Length: 3 to 4 mm. Photographer: Leanne & David Atkinson.
This is the second time we have found Goniodoridella savignyi at The Pipeline. We previously found one in January 2006. This time we found two. They were quite tiny and looked like a shell fragment in the debris until we looked closer. Even focusing at 1:1 they were quite small in the photo. We thought you might like to add one from NSW to the forum.
Regards,
Leanne & David Atkinson

Thanks for the record - and nice photos - of this species. They show the shape of the body, and the strange gills, very well.
Best wishes,
Bill Rudman
